Maiorana Carmelo
Carmelo Majorana is Professor of Structural Mechanics and Engineering at the University of Padua. He has been the 1st Head of the Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering of the University of Padua where he is actually the Head of Laboratory of Materials and Structures. The research activity of Prof. Majorana has been developed at national and international level through visits in European and American Universities and Research centres. This activity has been carried out and presented through a scientific production consisting of more than 300 papers divided as follows: 70 in international journals, 20 book chapters, 20 in national journals, 80 invited, keynote or special lectures in international context, 90 on proceedings of international conferences and 20 in proceedings of national congresses. Moreover he published abstracts and extended papers in national conferences, monographs and extended papers in teaching conferences. The research activity of Prof. Majorana is focussed on Computational Mechanics, and mainly on the solution of non-linear material and structural problems (material non-linearity, thermo-mechanical processes, mechanical behaviour of saturated and unsaturated porous media, thermo-elastic and thermo-elastic-plastic including gaseous phase, strain localization, one-phase and multiphase concrete models under normal and high temperature conditions, thermo-mechanical analysis of geo-structures, fatigue, non-linear geometry); static, dynamic and evolutionary analyses of three-dimensional bodies and structures of elastic, elastic-damaged and elastic-plastic material, with unilatelar contact. He has been and is researcher in many International Projects.
