Exercise 9.1 Gas Absorption Techniques (from the new pdf)

Good afternoon, I don't understand two things:

- Why is Gy actual equal to Gy/2?

- Why is the section of the tower equal to G/G'?

Maybe the real problem is that I've not understood very well the differences between G, G', Gy*, and why they have different unit of measurements.

G'  is the liquid mass flux.

G  is the gas mass flux.

Gy *  is the Actual gas flow, and we divide by 2 (where in the pdf version of exercise given by prof. Gy is the Gasl mass flux at flooding ) because we suppose 50% of the flooding. If I understood during the lecture, the optimal value for flooding gas velocity is between 40 - 70%.
