Gino Marioni

Gino Marioni, MD, is Associate Professor of the Department of Neuroscience DNS currently at Phoniatrics and Audiology Unit, Treviso Hospital, University of Padova (Italy). He is Deputy Director of the Graduate School of Otolaryngology, Padova University. He is Chairman of the Degree Course in Hearing Aid Technologies, Padova University. Prof. Marioni complies with the Italian requirements for the role of Full Professor in the Academic Area of Otolaryngology/Audiology.

He is a member of the Scientific Committee of the University’s Department of Neuroscience. He is a member of the Ethical Committee for clinical trials of the Province of Padova. He was a member of the Scientific Commission for the Medical Area at the University of Padova. He was one of the Assessors of the research generated by the universities and research centers supervised by the Italian Ministry for the University for the period 2004-2010 (VQR 2004-2010) and 2011-2014 (VQR 2011-2014).

Prof. Marioni graduated in Medicine (1995) and specialized in Otolaryngology (1999) at the University of Udine (Italy). He developed his expertise in head and neck surgery under the mentorship of Prof. A. Staffieri, and in otological surgery under the mentorship of Prof. S. Iurato. He has attended international surgical fellowship programs at the Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery of the Academic Hospital VU Amsterdam under Prof. G. Snow and HF. Mahieu (head and neck surgery/phonosurgery), and at the Hals-, Nasen- Ohrenkranke der J Maximilian Universität, Würzburg under Prof. J. Helms (otological/neuro-otological surgery).

Since 1999, Prof. Marioni has published more than 310 papers in ENT and non-ENT medical journals of international standing with i.f.. He has contributed to several international and national conferences and courses. He serves as Editorial Board Member of International Journal of Molecular Sciences, Frontiers in Neurology, Cancers, Diagnostics, Tomography, International Journal of Biological Markers (Subject Area Editor: Head and neck), Acta Otolaryngologica (Stockh), American Journal of Otolaryngology, ORL J Oto-Rhino-Laryngol (Basel), European Archives Otorhinolaryngology, Brazilian Journal of Otorhinolaryngology, Acta Otorhinolaryngologica Italica, Oral (Basel), Journal of Otorhinolaryngology, Hearing and Balance Medicine. He serves as international reviewer for more than 60 journals. He is elected Member of the Collegium Oto–Rhino–Laryngologicum Amicitiae Sacrum (founded in 1926), the Italian Society of Otolaryngology and Cranio-facial Surgery (SIO), the Italian Association of Otorhinolaryngology and Geriatrics (AIOG).

He has been teaching at the School of Medicine, School of Dentistry, School of Physiatrics, Schools of Specialization in Otolaryngology, Audiology and Phoniatrics, Geriatrics, Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, Maxillofacial Surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, International PhD School of Translational Medicine "GB Morgagni", PhD School of Oncology and Surgical Oncology, University of Padova.

He has performed more than 2,200 oto-rhino-laryngological surgical procedures
