Conducting quizzes in meetings

The quizzes feature allows you to create questions with set answers for your meetings. You will be able to launch the quiz during your meeting and gather the responses from your participants. You also have the ability to download a report on the quiz after the meeting. Quizzes can also be conducted anonymously, if you do not wish to collect participant information with the quiz results.

Full details of the quiz results, such as each participant's answers and submission times, are contained in the polling reports, which are available after the meeting by default but can also be made available during the live session.

You can also create and launch polls.

Creating polls or quizzes in a webinar is also available.

How to launch a quiz in a meeting

Polls are not immediately available to meeting participants, as the host needs to launch a quiz for participants to respond to. Hosts can create quizzes before or during a meeting.

During the meeting, all questions under a single quiz will be asked when launched. You can create additional quizzes to ask questions at different times during the meeting.

  1. Start the scheduled Zoom meeting.
  2. In the meeting controls, click Polls/Quizzes .
  3. In the Polls/Quizzes window, click the name of the quiz to open the details.
  4. (Optional) Before launching, click the ellipses icon  to access the following options:
    • Edit: Modify questions and answers to the quiz, then click Save
    • Display questions in a random order: Questions and the results will be shown in a random order.
    • Show one question at a time: View of questions and their results are shown one at a time.
  5. Click Launch.
The participants in the meeting will now be prompted to answer the quiz questions. The host will be able to see the results live.
  6. Once you would like to stop the quiz, click End Poll.
  7. Click the ellipses icon  to access the following options:
    • Re-launch Poll: Launches the quiz again.
Note: If a quiz is relaunched in a meeting, the quiz report will only display the last quiz occurrence. If you know you will need to launch the same quiz twice and want both sets of data, consider creating a second quiz with the same questions as the original to avoid relaunching.
    • Download Results: This will launch your default web browser so that you can download the entire quiz report, which shows what each participant chose, instead of the percentages of each choice.
Note: To have this feature enabled, contact Zoom Support.
    • View Results from Browser: Launches your default web browser and displays the same polling results on the web page.
    • Display questions in a random order: Questions and the results will be shown in a random order.
    • Show one question at a time: View of questions and their results are shown one at a time.
  8. Click Share Results to share the results with the participants in the meeting.
  9. (Optional) Select the check box next to Show correct answers to all if you want to display the quiz answers to participants.
  10. Click Stop Sharing when needed.
