Martina Massaro

Martina Massaro is an art and architectural historian. Following the completion of her Ph.D. in 2015, she has been a Research Fellow at the University Iuav of Venice until 2016 and since 2017 a Fellow at the ICEA (Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering) Department at the University of Padua. She has continued her involvement in Visualizing Venice since 2013. Assistant Curator of the exhibition, Venice, the Jews, and Europe: 1516-201), hosted in the Ducal Palace of Venice (June-November 2016) and dedicated to the 500th anniversary of the Jewish Ghetto’s foundation, her research interests include the study of patrons and collectors during the 18th and 19th centuries with a particular interest in Jewish patronage and its importance to Venetian social and economic history. She has published extensively in journals and books and presented her work at international conferences in the fields of art, architectural and urban history.
