River Engineering deals with the design of the hydraulic works.
After a brief recall of the knowledge required in hydrology and hydraulics, the course develops the joint hydraulic, geotechnical and structural aspects that contribute to the design of hydraulic works.
At the end of the course the student who has met the objectives will be able to manage the different aspects that concur to the design of hydraulic structures and to represent the result by use of suitable technical reports and graphical tables.
Fundamental knowledge of Hydraulics, Hydrology, Solid Mechanics, and Geotechnical Engineering are suggested to fruitfully attend the course.
