The class aims to give to the students the basic knowledge to use different Electroheat technologies and Electromagnetic processing for producing new materials and modifying and improving the characteristics of existing ones. The main technologies treated during the course are: resistance, conduction, induction, Radio Frequency and Microwave heating. Together with theoretical aspects a significative part of the class will be dedicated to the experimental and practical applications of EPM and Electroheat Technologies, both in laboratory and during some technical visits.
The final exam will consist in a discussion and a presentation of the laboratory tests. A non mandatory activity related to a project work is welcome and could be considered for the final score.
