This seminar provides an overview of the humanitarian sector, its architecture and stakeholders. It addresses cross-cutting topics such as protection of civilians in armed conflict and humanitarian advocacy, and how humanitarian relief, rehabilitation operations and development programmes are connected and implemented.
Theoretical lectures will go hand in hand with individual and group exercises, role-plays and simulations, contextualized to past and current humanitarian operations and highlighting what are the potential professional opportunities and resources of the sector. You will practice how to develop a project proposal, how to hold an advocacy event, learn communication and external relations skills through exercises of writing and public speaking, and also how to apply for a job in the humanitarian sector.
